Outcomes of Patients with Peripartum Cardiomyopathy Requiring LVAD Support: A Single-Center Experience

Purpose: Peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) typically presents with left ventricular (LV) dysfunction at the end of pregnancy or after delivery. Rarely, PPCM leads to advanced heart failure and refractory cardiogenic shock. Durable left ventricular assist devices (dLVAD) are a feasible treatment option in these cases. In this retrospective review, we aim to investigate outcomes of PPCM patients on dLVAD support.
