Oncologic and reproductive outcomes after fertility-sparing surgery for bilateral borderline ovarian tumors: A retrospective study
Borderline ovarian tumors (BOTs) comprise 10 –20 % of all ovarian malignancies. BOTs show histological properties and biological functions between noncancerous and cancerous epithelial ovarian tumors [1]. Most women with BOTs show significantly higher survival rates [2]. Because BOTs generally occur in teenage girls or young women, fertili ty-sparing surgical treatment that preserves the uterus and at least a part of one ovary has become the gold standard for women with BOTs desiring to preserve their childbearing potential.
