Identification of a novel score for adherence to the mediterranean diet that is inversely associated with visceral adiposity and cardiovascular risk: The chrono med diet score (CMDS)
Rationale: We verified whether existing validated MedDiet scores, namely MEDI-LITE and Mediterranean Diet Score (MDS), are associated with visceral adiposity. Failing to find a significant association, we proposed the validation of a new adherence questionnaire to the MedDiet, the Chrono Med-Diet score (CMDS) that, focusing on type and timing of carbohydrates intake, identifies subjects with abdominal obesity.
