Antibiotic therapy in reconstructive surgery of deep sternal wound infections
CONCLUSION: There is no evidence of benefit from antibiotic therapy over 14 days, whereas multidrug resistance increases with prolonged antibiotic use. In the absence of infectious agents or clinical signs of inflammation, surgical treatment without additional antibiotic treatment is effective.Linezolid is a suitable antibiotic in the treatment of gram-positive infections which are the most frequent in DSWI.PMID:38007643 | DOI:10.3233/CH-238121
