Nutrition and Metabolism for Kidney Health and Disease Management: 45  years of Development and Future Directions Under the International Society of Renal Nutrition and Metabolism

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a global public health challenge, and it is estimated that approximately 850 million people are now living with the condition.1 This burden is expected to continue to rise rapidly as the prevalence of diabetes, obesity and hypertension increases. Diet and nutrition play a critical role in all stages of CKD in its prevention, treatment and management. On behalf of the International Society of Nutrition and Metabolism (ISRNM), we are delighted to bring this 45th anniversary special edition to publication in the Journal of Renal Nutrition.
