Evolution of the HIF Targeted Therapy in Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma
Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) represents the sixth most commonly diagnosed cancer in men and the 10th in women, with approximately 81,800 new cases diagnosed, and over 14,000 deaths in 2023 in the United States.[1,2] Incidence of kidney cancer increases with age, and most cases are diagnosed in individuals aged 70 years or older. Smoking, obesity, and hypertension are among modifiable risk factors for development of this disease.[3]
