Care from Birth to Discharge of Infants Born at 22 to 23 Weeks ’ Gestation

We describe the approach taken at the University of Iowa Stead Family Child ren's Hospital neonatal intensive care unit with respect to preterm infants born at 22 weeks’ gestation. We have chosen to present our standardize care plan with respect to prenatal, neurologic, nutritional, gastrointestinal, and skin management. Respiratory and cardiopulmonary care will be briefl y reviewed, as these strategies have been published previously.
