Air Pollution, Physical Activity, and Lifespan

Traditional cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors, such as diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and smoking, have been well recognized in terms of their effect on CVD and all-cause mortality.1 However, nontraditional CVD risk factors, such as inflammatory markers, environmental exposures, and genetic polymorphisms, have only recently begun to be studied extensively.2
