Changing Landscape of Heart Failure Imaging

There are approximately 825,000 new cases of heart failure (HF) that occur just in the United States every year. This number is expected to exceed 8 million new cases by the year 2030. Currently, approximately 6.7 million Americans ≥20 years of age have HF.1 Diagnosis of HF remains complex and heterogenous; however, correct diagnosis leads to accurate treatment and possibly a decrease in patient morbidity and mortality. Advanced imaging, mainly, cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging, coronary computed tomography angiogra phy, and nuclear imaging like PET, has progressed significantly in last few decades.
