Effects of training and protein/carbohydrate supplementation by food on strength, body composition and bone metabolism in postmenopausal women

Background: Menopause is associated with impairments of health, e.g. cardiovascular disease, changes in body composition, decrease in bone density. Physical activity and nutrition strategies have been demonstrated to counteract some of these disabilities. Aim of the present study was to analyze the impact of 3 months of strength and endurance training combined with protein/carbohydrate supplementation on strength, body composition and bone metabolism in postmenopausal women.
