An interview with Mark Tedesco, author of The Dog on the Acropolis

This week Mark Tedesco is sharing his new book, The Dog on the Acropolis with me. His book is a story of the adventures of a dog living on the Acropolis who forms transforming relationships with humans. What is one thing people wouldn’t usually know about you? Though I appear outgoing and comfortable, most people don’t know that I have some social anxiety when in a group of people. Another thing many don’t know is that I used to live in Italy and I speak Italian fluently. What did your best review say about your work? “…This is such a heartwarming book. I laughed, I cried, I was angry and I was very happy throughout my time reading. From the first page I was drawn into the story and I felt as if I were not an observer, but a participant. I started reading thinking I would learn about the Acropolis, but what I learned was so much more. I would recommend this book to everyone who has a special place in their heart for dogs. It is a clean read and suitable for the young to the elderly…” What did your worst review say about your work? I do not have a negative review yet. 3 reviews posted on Amazon so far. How important are the names of any characters in your book? The names of the characters are linked to geography (the story takes place in Athens, Greece) and to time (the story takes place in two time periods, 2,500 years apart). So I had to research and make sure that the names of the characters corresponded to names used in that place...
