Predictors of Outcome in Status Epilepticus in the Neuro ICU (P7.172)

Conclusions: Previous studies have shown mortality from SE to be as high as 65[percnt]. While aggressive treatment with anticonvulsants may be associated with improvement in overall mortality (30[percnt] in the present study), patients are treated for long periods of time, experience various medical complications when mortality is still highly associated with anoxia, and a history of epilepsy remains the best predictor of good outcome.Disclosure: Dr. Osias has nothing to disclose.
