HIV medication drug interactions
I am studying for my consult psych recert boards. Various sources indicate that ritonavir and other HIV antivirals tend to lower methadone levels. According to the UCSF site, ritonavir may induce 3A4, thus lowering methadone levels: Interactions with Methadone. However, other sources, including wikipedia, states the ritonavir inhibits 3A4 - thus increasing the levels of drugs such as statins. the package insert... What are ACGME work hour rules?
I'm an FM PGY-2 and am trying to moonlight but don't know what the work hour rules are. I went to Wikipedia (btw, thank you very much for helping me get through college and med school. I know all the old farts are suffering MIs but it worked for me) and couldn't get an answer: Starting in 2003, with revisions in 2011,[34] regulations from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education capped the work-week at 80 hours. Shifts are capped (with limited exceptions) at a... What are ACGME work hour rules? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

How do you tell people you don't want to study with them?
Title pretty much says it all. Lately.. I've been approached by a few classmates to start a study group for boards and I honestly just don't want to. Nothing personal against them... but I prefer isolation. I honestly get more by google, Wiki, youtube, and all of my books rather than talking it through with another classmate. If I don't understand something... I usually understand it after I've done some digging through my own resources. I'm always down to help them understand something... GS Gold Award: Do People Really Not Know What It Is?
I was doing some searching around SDN to get an idea of how adcoms view things like the Eagle Scout Award and the Gold Award (the Eagle's Girl Scout equivalent). As someone who completed her Gold Award project, I'm slack-jawed at the fact that so many people just don't know what the Gold Award is. For anyone who's curious, here's info about it from the GS website and from wikipedia: Girl Scout Gold Award... GS Gold Award: Do People Really Not Know What It Is? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Nurse Practitioners (DNP) the new DO?
A little over a century and a half ago, a bunch of people came together and established the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree. Over the years, DO's have slowly fought to gain practicing rights throughout the United States and in modern times, have gained parity with MD's (read wiki for the history) Nowadays, many universites are offering the DNP degree. Although some states prevent NP's from calling themselves doctors, there have been many cases where DNPs introduce themselves as... Nurse Practitioners (DNP) the new DO?
