Okay, I think that will help you get more insight into what the job is like. If I were you I would try and get some work experience either with a GP or in a hospital in the emergency department or a general medical ward as these are the kind of environments which most UK doctors work and train in for many years. You need to see if the idea of spending lots of days, nights, weekends etc doing that sort of work appeals to you or not, because as you will quickly realise, it is very different to life as a lab scientist.
