Postoperative outcome of neonatal emergency surgeries in a tertiary care institute-A prospective observational study
CONCLUSION: Present study identified preterm birth, preoperative oxygen therapy, postoperative positive pressure ventilation, requirement of inotropes, and postoperative leukopenia as independent predictors of 6-week mortality. Neurodevelopmental outcomes in individuals with VACTERL association. A population-based cohort study
ConclusionsA higher risk of ADHD, ASD and ID was found among individuals with VACTERL association compared to controls. These results are of importance to caregivers and to professionals participating in follow ups of these patients in providing early diagnosis and support, aiming to optimize the quality of life of these patients. Esophago-pulmonary artery fistula caused by fish bone impaction
We present a case of a 65-year-old male who experienced posterior sternal pain, accompanied by a week-long fever following the consumption of fish. Computed tomography (CT) examination revealed a fish bone in the middle esophageal, along with a small amount of gas in the mediastinum. A focal pseudoaneurysm formation was observed in the posterior wall of the left pulmonary artery trunk, accompanied by the presence of gas and septic emboli in the main trunk of the left pulmonary artery and some of its branches.
