Efficacy of inhaled tiotropium add-on to budesonide/formoterol in patients with bronchiolitis obliterans developing after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation
CONCLUSIONS: Inhaled tiotropium add-on to combination budesonide/formoterol significantly improved lung function, but not respiratory symptoms, in patients with post-HSCT BOS.PMID:37696312 | DOI:10.1016/j.rmed.2023.107410 (Source: Respiratory Care)

Efficacy of inhaled tiotropium add-on to budesonide/formoterol in patients with bronchiolitis obliterans developing after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation
Bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS) is the lung manifestation of chronic graft-versus-host disease after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). We assessed whether inhaled tiotropium add-on to the combination regimen including budesonide/formoterol improve pulmonary function and the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease assessment test (CAT) scores in patients with BOS. Real-world comparative effectiveness of three single-inhaler dual bronchodilators for the treatment of COPD
Conclusion In a real-world setting of COPD treatment, the three dual bronchodilator combinations were similarly effective on the risk of a severe exacerbation of COPD. However, the VIL–UME and IND–GLY combinations may confer slightly superior effectiveness than OLO–TIO on the risk of moderate or severe exacerbation. The potential lower mortality with VIL–UME warrants further investigation. (Source: European Respiratory Journal)

LABA/LAMA versus LABA/ICS fixed-dose combinations in the prevention of COPD exacerbations: a modeling analysis of literature aggregate data
ConclusionsThis study showed that not all LABA/LAMA FDCs were superior to LABA/ICS FDCs in safety and in preventing moderate or severe exacerbations in patients with stable COPD, providing important quantitative information for COPD-related guidelines. Biomass Smoke –Associated Lung Diseases
AbstractPurpose of ReviewThe aim of our review is to describe biomass-related lung diseases and their different phenotypes, associations, challenges in diagnosis, and treatment options.Recent FindingsPeople over 60  years and exposed to high biomass smoke had higher odds of having respiratory morbidity. Approximately 30% of biomass smoke–exposed individuals have pulmonary function testing abnormalities. Biomass exposure increases the risk of developing COPD. Indacaterol and tiotropium may be recommended as a first line of treatment for biomass associated COPD. Liquid petroleum gas, improving cookstoves, or improving ind...

Effect of budesonide formoterol combined with tiotropium bromide on pulmonary function and inflammatory factors in patients with asthma-COPD overlap syndrome
CONCLUSION: The combination of budesonide formoterol to tiotropium bromide in treating asthma-COPD overlap syndrome may significantly improve pulmonary function, endothelial function, and immune status of patients and encourage the recovery of serum lipid peroxidation injury; therefore, this may deserve widespread adoption and application.PMID:37422789 | DOI:10.15586/aei.v51i4.876 (Source: Allergologia et Immunopathologia)
