Establishment of Safety Monitoring System for Vaccines Not Included in the National Immunization Program in Korea
CONCLUSION: We are establishing the first safety monitoring system for selected non-NIP vaccines in Korea since September 2022 and report its progress as of July 2023. However, continuous government support is essential for its maintenance and improvement.PMID:38317446 | PMC:PMC10843970 | DOI:10.3346/jkms.2024.39.e45 (Source: Herpes)

Maternal Perceptions of Tdap Vaccination and Dissonance between Vaccine Status and Perception
This study describes, among pregnant individuals, perceptions (e.g., benefits, safety, and efficacy) of the Tdap vaccine by vaccination status and explores the presence of dissonance between maternal perceptions and vaccination status. The concept of dissonance describes when behavioral action does not match individual beliefs. (Source: American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology)

Impact of COVID-19 on Vaccination Rates Among Pregnant Patients
Influenza and tetanus toxoid reduced diphtheria toxoid, and acellular pertussis (Tdap) are two safe and effective vaccines that are recommended in pregnancy. Despite this, significant vaccine hesitancy exists in pregnancy. However, impact of the COVID pandemic on vaccine hesitancy is not well understood. Thus, we sought to compare impact of COVID-19 pandemic on influenza and Tdap vaccination rates in pregnant patients. (Source: American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology)

117. Making it Easy to Say Yes: Using a Quality Improvement Approach to Boost Immunization Rates and Examine Equity in an Adolescent Medicine Practice
Vaccinations protect against preventable harmful diseases. Complete vaccine records enable adolescents to access opportunities including school, work, and sports. In our Adolescent Medicine practice, documentation of immunizations was incomplete, with the inability to get initial vaccination records for new patients. By December 2023, we sought to: 1) increase the percent of patients with a complete vaccination record from 88% to 95%, 2) increase the percent of patients who are up to date on their meningococcal (MCV), human papillomavirus (HPV), and Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis (Tdap) vaccinations from 70% to 80%, an...
