Clinical and psychosocial outcomes by sex among individuals prescribed buprenorphine-naloxone (BUP-NX) or extended-release naltrexone (XR-NTX) for opioid use disorder
CONCLUSIONS: Further research should explore how to integrate employment support into OUD treatment to improve patient outcomes, particularly among women.SCIENTIFIC SIGNIFICANCE: The current study addressed gaps in the literature by examining sex differences in MOUD initiation and diverse treatment outcomes in a large, national sample.PMID:37583120 | DOI:10.1111/ajad.13463 (Source: The American Journal on Addictions)

Dental Disorders Reported to the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System in Association with Buprenorphine: An Analysis by Ingredient Composition and Route of Administration
CONCLUSION: Subject to the limitations of spontaneous adverse event data, this study identified significantly disproportionate reporting of dental disorders to FAERS among patients treated with buprenorphine-containing medications, including formulations administered by sublingual, buccal and oral routes. These findings are consistent with prior data and suggest that regular oral care and proper dental hygiene be emphasized for patients undergoing therapy with orally dissolving buprenorphine.PMID:37526182 | DOI:10.2174/1574886318666230731151447 (Source: Current Drug Safety)

The toll of opioid dependence: A research report on the possible role of Toll-like receptor-4 and related immune markers in opioid dependence
CONCLUSION: The increase in TLR-4 after treatment with BNX may indicate the rescue from nonprescription opioid-induced immunosuppression or the introduction of a novel xenobiotics-associated molecular pattern of BNX.PMID:37485408 | PMC:PMC10358820 | DOI:10.4103/indianjpsychiatry.indianjpsychiatry_314_22 (Source: Indian Journal of Psychiatry)
