what's your morning routine?
Roll out of bed and go to work (maximize sleep) vs wake up early/eat breakfast/read/coffee/ect...? I alternate between the two and curious what others are doing. What makes you perform the best at work. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Is it okay if you don't study for PRITE?
My first go intern year I didn't study because I was doing internal medicine and didn't have time. I would basically sleep as soon as I got home. This year, while busy, is not so bad, but I simply do not feel any urgency in doing it. Am I creating problems for myself in being nonchalant about this? Does anyone really care? Breast block
What blocks do you guys/girls normally do at your practice for total mastectomy w axillary node dissections? Or breast reconstructions? I'm looking at pecs 1 , 2, SA, or paravertebral. Anyone have experience or data comparing these alone or in combo? And does anyone do them before putting patient to sleep? Any benefits? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Who has passed CS after an awful performance?
Took Step 2 CS recently. Studied a good 3-4 days beforehand by reading FA once through. But the actual exam performance was awful. To start off, I could not sleep at all the night before just from stress/anxiety/uncomfortable hotel bed. Then on exam day I consistently realize I forgot to ask important history questions, missed pertinent exams, and forgot to put obvious Ddx for many cases. In fact for most cases, I could only formulate 2 Ddx, instead of 3. Another scary thought - on some... Who has passed CS after an awful performance? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

How long did it take you to recover from residency?
I just finished PGY2 and quite frankly, I'm extremely burnt out physically, mentally, and emotionally. I feel like a shark just chewed me up and spit me back out, and even though it's been almost 2 months since residency ended, I still feel like crap. I've been getting ~8-10 hours of sleep a night but still feel tired most of the time. I have been living in a state of mental "fogginess." I know I'm more apathetic towards things than I used to be and definitely more forgetful. Basically, I've... How long did it take you to recover from residency? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

COMLEX PE scare experience
Hey guys, appreciate your time. Felt fine leaving exam but now am having crazy anxiety (unable to sleep type things) So humanism I thought was good other than I didn't always sit at the end of the encounter to present dx and plan but I did ask for any questions, if they understood, etc.... Also worried I didn't tailor my ROS specific enough to the case at times... Forgot some parts of neuro exam and MSK exam on 2 of the patients. DDx and plans I thought went well. How hard is it to match Sleep Fellowship with Family Medicine background?
Since FM is only 3 years, I'm considering this path. I would prefer it over neuro or doing IM + Pulm/CC. Anyone know how hard it would be to match? I'm getting a D.O. if that matters at all. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Aunty's Average DAT Breakdown (19AA/20TS/20PAT)
Well I took the DAT this past Friday and was pretty bummed. I was hoping to score way higher but obviously that did not happen. As I returned to my car I yelled every curse word possible and proceeded to drive home then sleep for the rest of the weekend. I know my scores aren't bad but I put in so much work and thought I deserved better. (Studied from early June to mid-August) I'm considering a retake. Here are my scores: PAT: 20 QR: 18 RC: 20 BIO: 20 GC: 19 OC: 20 TS: 20 AA:19 (how tf...) I... Aunty's Average DAT Breakdown (19AA/20TS/20PAT) (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Studying and med school - am i doing something wrong?
There is so much material that I feel like I need to be studying 8-9 hours a day to keep up, learn the information and do well on exams. Like every day with lectures come a new powerpoint with 40 slides and/or 15 page document full of information. Every day has been the same for me including Saturday and Sunday, I get up at ~6, go running and exercise for an hour, and study for about 8 hours (excluding breaks for lunch and dinner), I've been going to class too, and I sleep between 10-11. Step 2 lower than Step 1
Yep, it's another "what're my chances" post. So I am a DO student and scored the following: Step 1: 242 Step 2: 235 I'm a pretty average student to say the most . I want to stay in a city environment in the Northeast for the sake of my wife and kid. I get that there're people in way worse positions than me in terms of scores but I still lose sleep thinking about my own . Any input would be awesome and thank you. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

95% sure I failed naplex
Hello everyone, I took the NAPLEX a few days ago and I absolutely bombed it. I knew roughly 20 questions with 100% confidence, at most 25. The entire weekend I had no appetite, I couldn't sleep, and all I could think about was how bad I performed. There were questions all over the place with majority on the major topics (inf, onco, hiv). I read over the entire RxPrep Book once and then read over some of the major topics to brush up on but it felt overwhelming. It's impossible to memorize... 95% sure I failed naplex (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Lack of sleep during mcat
From all of my MCAT studying, I've found that even getting only 7 hours of sleep rather than 8 impedes my ability to reason through passages, especially in CARS and B/B. It makes it difficult for me to focus and keep track of what I'm reading. I'm pretty worried that I will be anxious on mcat eve and get little sleep. Everyone says this happens and that the adrenaline will make it easier, but I don't think that would work for me. My mind is impaired when I don't get 8-9 hours. Does anyone...
