United States Medical School Graduate Interest in Radiology Residency Programs as Depicted by Online Search Tools
Recent media publications have indicated a tough job market in medical specialty positions for medical school graduates, specifically in the field of radiology. Internet search tools, such as Google Trends, have proved useful in the prediction of certain diseases on the basis of the search volume index for a specific term. Characterizing the development of visual search expertise in pathology residents viewing whole slide images
Summary: The goal of this study was to examine and characterize changes in the ways that pathology residents examine digital whole slide images as they progress through the residency training. A series of 20 digitized breast biopsy whole slide images (half benign and half malignant biopsies) were individually shown to 4 pathology residents at four points in time—at the beginning of their first, second, third, and fourth years of residency. Their task was to examine each image and select three areas that they would most want to zoom in on in order to view the diagnostic detail at higher resolution. Eye position was record...

I thought the PMSR/RRA Residency Review thread was beneficial (though it kind of died after an initial wave of reviews), and after navigating the job search far outside of the geographic footprint of my own residency program, I wanted to have a centralized thread where you could read how others went through the process. I will post my own experience soon once I've wrapped everything up, but there should be some new practitioners who are willing to share. If you would like to contribute... I am currently at finishing residency this June. Was interested in general jobs in the NYC area. Surprisingly the job market is a ton better then what I expected after hearing much of doom and gloom and getting a job offer was much easier then i expected. The problem I have is selecting which job to take as there is very little information on the jobs unlike med schools/residency. I have narrowed down my choices to two places and dont know what to do. Job 1.) private practice group offering... Job Search Help
