Performance-Based Assessment in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency Training
CONCLUSIONS: A standard OSCE including different station types was structured to assess the progressive clinical skills of residents over the years. Using the OSCE contributed to CAP residency training far beyond assessment, creating a useful educational experience for both the trainers and the residents. Despite the challenge experienced related to SPs, the OSCE was found to be useful in improving training programs.PMID:34128192 | DOI:10.1007/s40596-021-01481-4 (Source: The Journal of American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training)

Depression, Suicidal Thoughts, and Burnout Among Physicians During the COVID-19 Pandemic: a Survey-Based Cross-Sectional Study
CONCLUSIONS: These findings highlight the importance of considering physician mental health during times of peak stress, such as natural or man-made disasters. The prominence of premorbid depression/anxiety as a relevant factor underscores the need to further understand physician mental health and provide early screening and treatment.PMID:34128193 | DOI:10.1007/s40596-021-01490-3 (Source: The Journal of American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training)

Psychiatry Residents as Medical Student Educators: a Review of the Literature
CONCLUSIONS: Due to a lack of high-quality studies, definitive conclusions cannot be drawn about the effectiveness of psychiatry trainees as medical educators nor about how to best train them as educators. Nevertheless, literature suggests that incorporating trainees as educators both augments resident and fellow training and enhances medical student experience and performance. Future research should assess needs and standardize methods, curricula, and outcome measures more systematically.PMID:34008132 | DOI:10.1007/s40596-021-01478-z (Source: The Journal of American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training)
