Waitlist and transplant outcomes for patients bridged to heart transplantation with Impella 5.0 and 5.5 devices
ConclusionsImpella devices can be used as a BTT with excellent survival and minimal post-transplant morbidity. Outcomes were comparable for Impella 5.0 and 5.5 devices.

Viruses, Vol. 14, Pages 2515: Case Fatality of Hospitalized Patients with COVID-19 Infection Suffering from Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome in Germany
Conclusions: The case fatality of COVID-19 patients with ARDS is dramatically high and shows relevant regional disparities. Our findings may help to draw more attention to predictors for in-hospital case fatality in patients hospitalized with COVID-19 and suffering from ARDS.

Mitral valve surgery via repeat median sternotomy versus right mini ‐thoracotomy: A systematic review and meta‐analysis of clinical outcomes
ConclusionRight MT is a safe alternative to the traditional re-sternotomy for patients who have had previous cardiac surgery. The approach offers a reduced length of hospital stay, ICU stay, and a lower risk of new-onset renal failure requiring dialysis. This review calls for robust trials in the field to further strengthen the evidence.
