Perceived Level of Life Enjoyment and Risk of Developing Disabling Dementia: The Japan Public Health Center-Based Study
DISCUSSION: A higher level of life enjoyment was associated with a lower risk of disabling dementia, particularly in the low-medium mental stress group. Sleep duration and risk of stroke and coronary heart disease: a 9-year community-based prospective study of 0.5 million Chinese adults

Intracerebral Hemorrhage Among Blood Donors and Their Transfusion Recipients
CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: In an exploratory analysis of patients who received red blood cell transfusions, patients who underwent transfusion with red blood cells from donors who later developed multiple spontaneous ICHs were at significantly increased risk of spontaneous ICH themselves. This may suggest a transfusion-transmissible agent associated with some types of spontaneous ICH, although the findings may be susceptible to selection bias and residual confounding, and further research is needed to investigate if transfusion transmission of cerebral amyloid angiopathy might explain this association.PMID:37698562 | DOI:1...

CONCLUSION: The modified HAS-BLED score, a history of bleeding, concurrent use of PPI, ABCG2 rs3114018, and ABCB1 rs1045642 were significantly associated with the risk of bleeding complications in patients on apixaban and rivaroxaban, after adjusting for other confounders. Signal detection of adverse events associated with gabapentinoid use for chronic pain
CONCLUSIONS: Our study identified expected and unexpected ADE signals in GABA users. Neurological signals likely related to indications for GABA use. Signals for immunity, mental/behavior, and skin disorders were found in the FDA adverse event reporting system database. Everyday Pain in Middle and Later Life: Associations with Daily and Momentary Present-Moment Awareness as One Key Facet of Mindfulness
This study investigated everyday associations between one key facet of mindfulness (allocating attention to the present moment) and pain. In Study 1, 89 community-dwelling adults (33-88 years; Mage = 68.6) who had experienced a stroke provided 14 daily end-of-day present-moment awareness and pain ratings. The effects of Baduanjin on physical function, daily living activities and quality of life in patients with stroke: a systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Baduanjin is probably an effective rehabilitation method to improve balance, motor, trunk, neurological functions, daily living activities, and quality of life in stroke patients. Association between depression and chronic diseases among middle-aged and older Chinese adults
CONCLUSION: Depressive symptoms were significantly associated with chronic diseases (including diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and stroke), which suggests that psychological factors, such as depressive symptoms should be taken into consideration in the prevention and control of chronic diseases.PMID:37534639
