First-Line Therapy for Type 2 Diabetes With Sodium-Glucose Cotransporter-2 Inhibitors and Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 Receptor Agonists : A Cost-Effectiveness Study
CONCLUSION: As first-line agents, SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP1 receptor agonists would improve type 2 diabetes outcomes, but their costs would need to fall by at least 70% to be cost-effective.PRIMARY FUNDING SOURCE: American Diabetes Association.PMID:36191315 | DOI:10.7326/M21-2941

Usefulness of Triglyceride-glucose index for detecting prevalent atrial fibrillation in a type 2 diabetic population
CONCLUSION: Our data supported a linear and robust correlation between TyG and the prevalent AF in a diabetic population. Moreover, our results implicated the potential usefulness of TyG to refine the detection of prevalent AF in a diabetic population.PMID:36093727 | DOI:10.1080/00325481.2022.2124088

Risk of future cardiovascular diseases in different years postpartum after hypertensive disorders of pregnancy: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Discussion: A history of HDP is associated with approximately 2- to 4-fold increase in the risk of CVDs. Screening for CVDs and their risk factors in women with prior HDP since delivery, especially the first 5 years after delivery is suggested for early detection and appropriate management. Evidence on the risks of CVDs in preeclampsia with severe features and early onset of preeclampsia is limited due to having few studies and high heterogeneity. Optimal blood pressure target in the elderly: rationale and design of the HOW to Optimize eLDerly systolic Blood Pressure (HOWOLD-BP) trial
CONCLUSIONS: The HOWOLD-BP trial is the first study performed in Korea to evaluate the beneficial effects of intensive blood pressure treatment on CVD in elderly patients with hypertension. The results of this study will help clarify the appropriate target SBP for this population.PMID:35859277 | DOI:10.3904/kjim.2022.067
