Efficacy and safety of thrombectomy for acute ischaemic stroke in patients with pre-stroke mRS scores of 2-3: Real-world evaluation from an open-label, prospective, multicentre, observational study
CONCLUSION: Intravenous t-PA and especially thrombectomy were safe and effective for the population with pre-stroke disabilities, particularly for patients with low NIHSS scores.PMID:37461387 | DOI:10.1177/15910199231185637

Usefulness of maximum intensity projection images of non-enhanced CT for detection of hyperdense middle cerebral artery sign in acute thromboembolic ischemic stroke
ConclusionThe hyperdense MCA sign sensitivity on 5  mm MIP images was significantly higher than that on conventional 5 mm averaged CT images. This could be useful for the early initiation of proper therapy for patients with acute focal neurological deficits.

Diagnostic reference levels and median doses for common clinical indications of CT: findings from an international registry
ConclusionsDRLs for CTDIvol and DLP for EUCLID clinical indications from diverse organizations were established and can contribute to dose optimization. These values were usually significantly higher in the US than in Europe.Key Points•Registry data were used to create benchmarks for 10 common indications for CT identified by the European Society of Radiology.•Observed US radiation doses were higher than European for 9 of 10 indications (except chronic sinusitis).•The presented diagnostic reference levels and median doses highlight potentially unnecessary variation in radiation dose.

Global research trends in COVID-19 with MRI and PET/CT: a scoping review with bibliometric and network analyses
ConclusionCOVID-19 pandemic is still spreading worldwide, and the knowledge about its different facets continues advancing. MRI and PET/CT are being used in more than 50% of the selected studies; research trends span seven categories, no only the diagnostic but others like socio-economic impact and pathogenesis Developed countries had an advantage by having hospitals with more resources, including MRI and PET/CT facilities in the same institution to supplement basic assessment in patients with COVID-19.

Low- and moderate-dose non-cancer effects of ionizing radiation in directly exposed individuals, especially circulatory and ocular diseases: a review of the epidemiology.
CONCLUSIONS: We document statistically significant excess risk of the major types of circulatory disease, specifically ischemic heart disease and stroke, in moderate- or low-dose exposed groups, with some not altogether consistent evidence suggesting dose response non-linearity, particularly for stroke. However, the patterns of risk reported are not straightforward. We also document evidence of excess risks at lower doses/dose-rates of posterior subcapsular and cortical cataract in the Chernobyl liquidators, US Radiologic Technologists and Russian Mayak nuclear workers, with fundamentally linear dose response. Nuclear cata...
