Beta-Blockade in Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage: a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
ConclusionsIn adult patients with aSAH, beta-blocker therapy is associated with a mortality benefit. Studies are generally of a low quality with considerable clinical heterogeneity. Prospective large interventional trials with patient centered outcomes are required to validate this finding.

Conclusions: The present study showed that CST integrity (at 6 months after onset) in patients with chronic stroke was related to functional hand status. The Sub-Saharan Africa Conference on Stroke (SSACS): An idea whose time has come
Stroke is a leading cause of global morbidity and mortality. Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), where an unprecedented rise in stroke burden is currently raging, has the highest age-standardized stroke incidence, stroke prevalence, and stroke mortality rates. This is in sharp contrast to the relative decline in stroke incidence in high-income countries over the past four decades through better awareness and control of vascular risk factors. Compared to other groups, Africans tend to have a higher risk of stroke, higher percentage of the hemorrhagic type and much poorer outcomes.

Treatment Patterns and Outcomes of Patients Receiving Direct Oral Anticoagulants or Low Molecular Weight Heparin who Experienced Life-threatening Intracranial Hemorrhage (P5.053)
Conclusions:This study provides a real-world picture of patients receiving FXa inhibitors or LMWH, experiencing life-threatening intracranial bleeds. Despite efforts to restore hemostasis, mortality remained high and substantial healthcare resources were expended. The Impact on Radiology Utilization of Disseminating an Analysis on the Value of Neuroimaging Studies in Intracerebral Hemorrhage: The University Hospitals Case Medical Center Comprehensive Stroke Center Experience (P5.145)
CONCLUSIONS: Disseminating the findings of our prior analysis regarding the use of neuroimaging studies for patients with ICH at our institution led to a significant reduction in resource case use for CT and MRI. Neuroimaging resource utilization, fostered by the availability of sophisticated neuroimaging, EMR standard order sets, and clinical trials protocols is an important area for research on the value of our health care.
