Prevalence and site of predilection of carotid webs focusing on symptomatic and asymptomatic Japanese patients
CONCLUSIONS: Although limited to CTA patients, this study reported on the prevalence and common site of CWs, focusing on symptomatic and asymptomatic Japanese patients. A Single-center Retrospective Study with 5- and 10-year Follow-up of Carotid Endarterectomy with Patch Graft.
This study evaluated the 5- and 10-year outcomes following CEA with patch graft closure in our institution. Between January 2000 and March 2013, 134 patients, who underwent CEA with patch graft closure were investigated in the current retrospective study. Among these patients, 102 CEAs in 97 patients were followed up for 5 years and 66 CEAs in 61 patients were for 10 years after the procedure. Restenosis was defined as >50% recurrent luminal narrowing at the endarterectomy site. Stenosis Length and Degree Interact With the Risk of Cerebrovascular Events Related to Internal Carotid Artery Stenosis
Conclusion: We found a statistically insignificant tendency for the ultrasound-measured length of sICAS<70% to be longer than that of sICAS≥70%. Moreover, the ultrasound-measured length of sICAS<90% was significantly longer than that of sICAS 90%. Among patients with sICAS≥70%, the degree and length of stenosis were inversely correlated. Effect of an intensified multifactorial intervention on cardiovascular outcomes and mortality in type 2 diabetes (J-DOIT3): an open-label, randomised controlled trial
