Aortic Remodeling After Endovascular Repair of Complicated Acute Type B Aortic  Dissection
Conclusions TEVAR for complicated aTBAD results in low 30-day and 1-year mortality rates, with higher reintervention rates than observed with open operations. TEVAR is effective in thrombosing and stabilizing the size of the thoracic FL. The abdominal aortic FL remains patent and must be carefully scrutinized for long-term aneurysm formation.

Acute bithalamic infarct manifesting as sleep-like coma: A diagnostic challenge
Publication date: December 2016 Source:Journal of Clinical Neuroscience, Volume 34 Author(s): Asaf Honig, Ruth Eliahou, Roni Eichel, Ari Aharon Shemesh, Tamir Ben-Hur, Eitan Auriel Bilateral thalamic infarction (BTI) typically presents as a sleep-like coma (SLC) without localizing signs, posing a diagnostic challenge that may lead the treating physician to search for toxic or metabolic causes and delay treatment. We review our experience with BTI of different etiologies, and emphasize the critical role of timely imaging, diagnosis, and management in a series of 12 patients with a presentation of SLC and acute BTI who were...

Combined brachial embolectomy and stent graft endovascular exclusion in the treatment of acute arm ischemia due to subclavian artery aneurysms thrombosis or distal embolization.
CONCLUSION: Endovascular repair is a less invasive alternative to open repair especially in high risk patients. long term results must still be confirmed in further studies. KEY WORDS: Arm ischemia, Endovascular treatment, Subclavian aneurysm. PMID: 27807319 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Branched Endovascular Therapy of the Distal Aortic  Arch: Preliminary Results of the Feasibility Multicenter Trial of the Gore Thoracic Branch Endoprosthesis
Conclusions Total endovascular repair of distal zone 2 arch aortic aneurysms can be achieved with a novel branched arch endograft. Future studies will evaluate the feasibility of this approach for aneurysms encompassing the brachiocephalic trunk and left carotid artery.

E-067 Endovascular Approach in the Repair of the Middle Cerebral Artery Aneurysm Including Those with Wide Neck and Complex in Morphology-A Case Series
ConclusionsEndovascular repair of the MCA aneurysm inclosing those with wide neck and complex are not only safe and feasible, but associated with high long-term functional outcome. Therefore, endovascular options must be offered to patients prior to surgical clipping of a MCA aneurysm. Further study may be warranted.DisclosuresY. Lodi: None. V. Reddy: None.

Comparison of Total Arch and Partial Arch Transposition During Hybrid Endovascular Repair for Aortic Arch Disease.
CONCLUSION: Morbidity and mortality were high within the first year of hybrid endovascular therapy for aortic arch disease, implying that candidates for hybrid procedures need to be selected carefully. Hybrid endovascular repair with TAT was found to have peri-operative mortality, stroke, and long-term survival rates comparable with PAT, so hybrid endovascular repair may be considered, irrespective of type of arch reconstruction, when clinically indicated. Long-Term Experience of Endovascular Repair for Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms and Dissections
Conclusion: Thoracic endovascular aortic repair is a relatively safe and effective therapy for different aortic pathologies with good long-term success. The risk of stroke and paraparesis is notable whether the LSA is covered, and strokes clearly accumulate in the emergency setting. A type I endoleak is the most common complication, but there are no predictive factors for its development.

Early Experiences with the Endovascular Repair of Ruptured Descending Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm.
CONCLUSION: TEVAR for rDTAA was associated with favorable early mortality and morbidity outcomes. However, early reintervention should be considered if persistent endoleak occurs. PMID: 27064672 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Subarachnoid Hemorrhage with and without Concomitant Sickle Cell Disease, a Comparison Using the Nationwide Inpatient Sample (S4.004)
Conclusions: Based on these data, 2 out of every 1000 cases of SAH in the United States, will be related to SCD. SAH occurs at a much younger age in patients with SCD. Prognosis in patients with SAH related to SCD may be better than in non-SCD patients.Disclosure: Dr. Al Zahmi has nothing to disclose. Dr. Conners has nothing to disclose. Endovascular repair or open repair for ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm: a Cochrane systematic review
Conclusions Outcomes between eEVAR and open repair, specifically 30-day mortality, are similar. However, further high-quality trials are required, as the paucity of data currently limits the conclusions.

Pararenal Aortic Ulcer Repair.
CONCLUSION: Encouraging results of endovascular treatment of pararenal PAUs were observed. One major and fatal complication was encountered, which underlines the complexity and risks of the techniques. Another patient required re-intervention owing to an endoleak following off label use of covered stents for Ch-EVAR. FEVAR, which generally requires a custom made graft, was increasingly applied over the study period, potentially because of an increased awareness of this distinct pathology allowing for elective procedure planning. Ch-EVAR and hybrid procedures were predominantly used in symptomatic patients, whereas FEVAR wa...
