Early Aortic Valve Replacement in Symptomatic Normal-Flow, Low-Gradient Severe Aortic Stenosis: A Propensity Score-Matched Retrospective Cohort Study
CONCLUSIONS: An early AVR strategy may be beneficial in reducing the risk of a composite outcome of death or hospitalization for HF in symptomatic patients with NFLG severe AS. Future randomized studies are required to validate and confirm our findings.PMID:37653715 | DOI:10.4070/kcj.2023.0022

Mechanical thrombectomy in ischemic stroke after cardiovascular procedures: a propensity-matched cohort analysis
Conclusions Use of MT for LVO stroke in patients after a recent CVP is a safe and efficient treatment in comparison with patients with a non-periprocedural LVO undergoing MT.

Outcomes of aortic valve-sparing root replacement with cusp repair in connective tissue disease
CONCLUSION: Remodelling and aortic valve repair showed excellent durability at 5 years, even in connective tissue disorders.PMID:37640626 | DOI:10.1016/j.acvd.2023.07.005

Subannular repair in secondary mitral regurgitation with restricted leaflet motion during systole
Conclusions Our study demonstrates the safety and feasibility of standardised subannular repair to treat ventricular SMR (Carpentier type IIIb) in a multicentre setting. By addressing mitral leaflet tethering, papillary muscle relocation results in very satisfactory 1-year outcomes and has the potential to durably restore MV geometry; nevertheless, long-term FU is mandatory. Trial registration number NCT03470155.

Minimally invasive, surgical, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement: Network meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: MS was protective against 30-day mortality, stroke, AKI, and long-term mortality compared to FS; TAVR showed higher rates of 30-day PVL and PPM but was protective against AKI. Conversely, MT showed higher rates of 30-day PVL and major bleeding. With the emergence of TAVR, the appropriate benchmarks for SAVR comparison in future trials should be the minimally-invasive SAVR approaches to provide clinical equipoise.PMID:37611742 | DOI:10.1016/j.jjcc.2023.08.010
