Study on the predictive ability of emergency CHADS < sub > 2 < /sub > score and CHA < sub > 2 < /sub > DS < sub > 2 < /sub > -VASc score for coronary artery disease and prognosis in patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction
CONCLUSIONS: Multiple factors jointly affect the severity and prognosis of CAD in patients with acute STEMI. The CHA2DS2-VASc score is better than the CHADS2 score in predicting the severity of coronary artery lesions and prognosis of patients, providing theoretical support for clinical practice.PMID:35928606 | PMC:PMC9344425 | DOI:10.21037/jtd-22-763

Association between exercise and risk of cardiovascular diseases in patients with non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis
CONCLUSION: Exercise was associated with a reduced risk of cardiovascular diseases in patients with bronchiectasis. The impact of smoking on thromboembolism and mortality in patients with incident atrial fibrillation: insights from the Danish Diet, Cancer and Health study.
CONCLUSIONS Smoking is associated with a higher risk of thromboembolism or death in patients with AF even after adjusting for well-recognised risk factors used in stroke risk stratification schemes. The associations may be modified by sex, as the associations were strongest among women.

Intracerebral Hemorrhage and Delirium Symptoms: Length of Stay, Function and Quality of Life in a 114-patient Cohort.
Conclusions: After focal neurologic injury, delirium symptoms were common despite low rates of infection and sedation exposure, and were predictive of subsequent worse functional outcomes and lower QOL.

Long term outcomes following development of new-onset atrial fibrillation during sepsis.
CONCLUSIONS: Most sepsis survivors with new-onset AF during sepsis have AF occur after discharge from the sepsis hospitalization, and have increased long-term risks for heart failure, ischemic stroke and death. Our findings may have implications for post-hospitalization surveillance of patients with new-onset AF during a sepsis hospitalization.
