Dual-Energy CT Follow-Up After Stroke Thrombolysis Alters Assessment of Hemorrhagic Complications
Conclusion: Compared to pCT, DECT within 36 h after IV thrombolysis for acute ischemic stroke, changes the radiological diagnosis of post-treatment ICH to “CS only” in a small proportion of patients. Studies are warranted of whether the altered radiological reports have an impact on patient management, for example initiation timing of antithrombotic secondary prevention.

Contrast-induced nephropathy: A dilemma between loss of neurons or nephrons in the setting of endovascular treatment of acute ischemic stroke.
CONCLUSION: Contrast-induced nephropathy is a relatively common complication after endovascular treatment of acute ischemic stroke and is associated with worse outcome in patients with this condition. Heart failure and stroke risks in users of liothyronine with or without levothyroxine compared to levothyroxine alone: A propensity score matched analysis
CONCLUSIONS: The use of LT3 was associated with increased incidence of heart failure and stroke in patients with a longer duration of LT3 use and history of thyroid cancer. Therefore, clinicians should consider the risk of heart failure and stroke in thyroid cancer patients with long-term use of LT3. ConclusionImaging alterations due to residual IV contrast are frequent in clinical practice and render the hyperdense vessel sign largely indetectable. Larger studies are needed to clarify the influence on the association between ASPECTS and ischemic core.

The diagnostic value of quantitative parameters on dual-layer detector-based spectral CT in identifying ischaemic stroke
ConclusionThe study showed the spectral CT would be a potential novel rapid method for identifying AIS. The spectral CT quantitative parameters (Zeff, iodine density values, and iodine–no-water values) can effectively differentiate the ischaemic area from non-ischaemic tissue in stroke patients.

Dual energy computed tomography in differentiation of iodine contrast agent staining from secondary brain haemorrhage in patients with ischaemic stroke treated with thrombectomy
CONCLUSIONS: DECT with iodine-water material decomposition maps is a valuable tool in the differentiation of prolonged staining of iodine contrast agent from secondary brain haemorrhage in patients with acute ischaemic stroke treated with mechanical thrombectomy. The value of 6 100ug/cm3 (0.6 mg/cm3) seems a good threshold in quantitative differentiation of iodine from blood on iodine (water) MD maps.
