Low-Dose Piperlongumine Rescues Impaired Function of Endothelial Progenitor Cells and Reduces Cerebral Ischemic Injury in High-Fat Diet-Fed Mice
In conclusion, low-dose piperlongumine can enhance EPCs’ angiogenic potential and protect against cerebral ischemic injury in HFD-fed mice. It is implied that treatment with low-dose piperlongumine might be a potential option to prevent ischemic diseases (including stroke) in patients with hyperlipidemia, and priming with piperlongumine might be a feasible way to improve the efficacy of EPC-based therapy for ischemic diseases.

Endothelial Cell CD36 Reduces Atherosclerosis and Controls Systemic Metabolism
Front Cardiovasc Med. 2021 Nov 23;8:768481. doi: 10.3389/fcvm.2021.768481. eCollection 2021.ABSTRACTHigh-fat Western diets contribute to tissue dysregulation of fatty acid and glucose intake, resulting in obesity and insulin resistance and their sequelae, including atherosclerosis. New therapies are desperately needed to interrupt this epidemic. The significant idea driving this research is that the understudied regulation of fatty acid entry into tissues at the endothelial cell (EC) interface can provide novel therapeutic targets that will greatly modify health outcomes and advance health-related knowledge. Dysfunctional ...

Apolipoprotein C3-Rich Low-Density Lipoprotein Induces Endothelial Cell Senescence via FBXO31 and Its Inhibition by Sesamol In Vitro and In Vivo
In this study, we aimed to examine the effects of ApoC3-rich low-density lipoprotein (AC3RL) mediated via FBXO31 on endothelial cell (EC) senescence and its inhibition by sesamol. AC3RL and ApoC3-free low-density lipoproteins (LDL) (AC3(-)L) were isolated from the plasma LDL of patients with ischemic stroke. Human aortic endothelial cells (HAECs) treated with AC3RL induced EC senescence in a dose-dependent manner. AC3RL induced HAEC senescence via DNA damage. However, silencing FBXO31 attenuated AC3RL-induced DNA damage and reduced cellular senescence. Thus, FBXO31 may be a novel therapeutic target for endothelial senescen...

Hawthorn fruit acid consumption attenuates hyperlipidemia-associated oxidative damage in rats
CONCLUSION: HFA administration can provide health benefits by counteracting the effects of hyperlipidemia caused by an HFD in the body, and the underlying mechanism of this event is closely related to the activation of the Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway.PMID:35990322 | PMC:PMC9384962 | DOI:10.3389/fnut.2022.936229

Formic acid induces hypertension-related hemorrhage in hSSAO < sup > TG < /sup > in mice and human
In this study, 42 hemorrhagic patients with hypertension and hyperlipidemia and 42 age-matched healthy controls were enrolled. The contents of serum semicarbazide-sensitive amine oxidase (SSAO) and formic acid (FC, FC is a final product of SSAO through the oxidation of endogenous formaldehyde, which results from the enzymatic oxidative deamination of the SSAO substrate, methylamine) were examined in the patients after stroke. Hemorrhagic areas were quantified by computer tomography. In the animal study, hemorrhagic degree was assessed by hemotoxylin & eosin or tissue hemoglobin kits. The relationship between FC and blo...
