Case of malignant brain edema despite successful recanalization after mechanical thrombectomy for anterior circulation stroke
CONCLUSION: MBE after MT results in unsatisfactory functional outcomes, even if it has successful revascularization. No collateral in the territory of the occluded vessel in the initial angiogram is one of the predictors of MBE after MT.PMID:37151444 | PMC:PMC10159319 | DOI:10.25259/SNI_28_2023

Obstructive sleep apnea confers lower mortality risk in acute ischemic stroke patients treated with endovascular thrombectomy: National Inpatient Sample analysis 2010-2018
Conclusions Our findings suggest that MT is a viable and safe treatment option for AIS patients with OSA.

Intracranial non-occlusive intraluminal thrombus may indicate underlying etiology of large vessel occlusion in patients undergoing endovascular therapy
Conclusions The presence of iNOT may reflect an underlying ICAS related LVO in patients undergoing EVT.

Bridging thrombolysis in atrial fibrillation stroke is associated with increased hemorrhagic complications without improved outcomes
Conclusion In this large thrombectomy registry, AF patients exposed to IVT before MT had increased hemorrhagic complications without improved functional outcomes, in contrast with non-AF patients. Prospective trials are warranted to assess whether AF patients represent a subgroup of LVO patients who may benefit from a direct to thrombectomy approach at thrombectomy capable centers.

Predictors of futile recanalization after endovascular treatment in acute ischemic stroke: a meta-analysis
Conclusion This study identified female sex, comorbidities, admission systolic blood pressure, serum glucose, occlusion site, non-bridging therapy, and post-procedural complication as predictors of futile recanalization, and also confirmed previously reported factors. Further large-scale prospective studies are needed.

O-016 Outcomes after endovascular mechanical thrombectomy for low national institutes of health stroke scale (NIHSS): a multicenter study
ConclusionsMT is an effective and safe treatment for appropriately selected ischemic stroke patients presenting with low NIHSS. Diabetes and prior stroke are predictors of functional dependence at 90 days, and prior stroke is also associated with mortality, suggesting that MT should be offered judiciously to patients with these risk factors. Our findings signal the need for a randomized trial comparing MT versus medical management for LVO patients with low NIHSS.Disclosures I. Abecassis: 2; C; IschemaView (Rapid), Remedy Robotics. E.
