Sex-related differences in presentation, treatment, and outcome of patients with atrial fibrillation in Europe: a report from the Euro Observational Research Programme Pilot survey on Atrial Fibrillation
Conclusion The EORP-AF Pilot survey provides contemporary data on sex differences in clinical features and management of AF patients participating in the EORP-AF Pilot registry. Female subjects were older and more symptomatic, compared with males, and were more likely to receive rate control. Also, female patients were at higher stroke risk overall, but oral anticoagulation was used in a high proportion of patients.

Conclusion Pre-hospital morphine use was not associated with an increase of in-hospital complication and one-year mortality; and, could be more used as recommended in the current guidelines.

Epidemiological characteristics, management and early outcomes of acute coronary syndromes in Greece: The PHAETHON study.
CONCLUSIONS: The PHAETHON study provided valuable insights into the epidemiology, management and outcome of ACS patients in Greece. Management of ACS resembles the management observed in other European countries. However, several issues still to be addressed by public authorities for the timely and proper management of ACS. Clinical Characteristics, Management, and Outcomes of Suspected Poststroke Acute Coronary Syndrome.
Conclusion: Age and troponin level appear to play a role in the current clinical decision making for patient with suspected poststroke ACS. Troponin level appears to significantly correlate with 1-year all-cause mortality. Need for prehospital management of hypertensive peaks
ConclusionIn the management of hypertension, it is necessary to rely more on clinical tolerance than on the level of blood pressure to guide treatment. It is necessary to know how to diagnose a true hypertensive emergency associating generally very high blood pressure and a threatening clinical context justifying the use of an immediate treatment whose benefit must be greater than the risks incurred by a rapid fall in blood pressure.

Characteristics of arterial hypertension in menopausal diabetic women
ConclusionHigh blood pressure is a public health problem most often associated with other cardiovascular risk factors. An evaluation of cardiovascular risk is necessary in postmenopausal hypertensive diabetic women and effective management of risk factors is recommended.

Real-world experience with the insertion of a new implantable cardiac monitor
ConclusionThe new BM III was inserted in typically less than 5 minutes until wound closure. A relevant number of insertions took place in a consultation room. Prophylactic antibiotics may be unnecessary, because no pocket infections were reported, although no antibiotic prophylaxis was used in one half of all cases (N = 229). In summary, the insertion with the new tool is fast and has a low risk of complications.
