What Causes Hyperammonemia?
Discussion Reye’s syndrome (RS)is named for Dr. Douglas Reye who along with Drs. G. Morgan and J. Baral described encephalopathy and fatty accumulation and degeneration in children in a 1963 Lancet article. RS usually affects children but can occur at all ages. All organs can be affected but the liver and brain are primarily affected causing liver failure and encephalopathy as toxic metabolites (especially ammonia) accumulate, and intracranial hypertension and cerebral edema occurs. Limb-Shaking TIA as the Presenting Symptom of ICA Dissection (P3.269)
Conclusions:This case demonstrates limb-shaking TIA as the presenting symptom of ICA dissection. Neurologists should be aware that involuntary limb movements in the setting of ICA dissection with associated borderzone ischemia can represent limb-shaking TIA. National Assessment of Quality Programs in Emergency Medical Services.
CONCLUSIONS: EMS agencies in the United States have significant practice variability with regard to quality improvement resources, medical direction and specific clinical quality measures. An Unusual Cause of Abdominal Pain in a Young, Hypertensive Female
Question: A 21-year-old woman of Indian descent presented with subacute left upper quadrant abdominal pain. The pain was sharp, severe, and elicited by food. She denied diarrhea, constipation, and weight loss. Her past medical history was significant for hypertension diagnosed as a teenager and ischemic stroke, attributed to Moya-Moya disease, and treated with stenting and bypass of the left middle cerebral and internal carotid arteries. Her medications included amlodipine, aspirin, and topiramate.

Acute aortic occlusion in a patient without risk factors
A 94-year-old female with a history of ischemic stroke, mild right hemiparesis, vascular dementia, breast cancer with right mastectomy, colon cancer resulting in colectomy, hyperlipidemia, and hypertension presented to the emergency department (ED) with bilateral leg pain.
