Role of ACE Polymorphism in Acute Ischemic Stroke
Conclusions: Our study showed a strong association between ACE polymorphism and the risk of AIS. This study paves the way for further studies to confirm the role of ACE polymorphism as genetic risk factors for AIS.

Prevalence of Aortic Plaques in Cryptogenic Ischemic Stroke: Correlation to Vascular Risk Factors and Future Events
Conclusions: Aortic plaques are an under-recognized cause of cryptogenic stroke. The significant risk factors in aortic plaque group highlight the importance of aggressive risk factor control for secondary stroke prevention.

Influence of Sex Difference on Distribution of Risk Factors and Etiologic Subtypes of Acute Ischemic Stroke: Reality of Facts
Conclusion: Significant sex-related differences were found in risk factors and subtypes of AIS in our cohort of patients. Findings of our study are in general comparable with studies from all over the world.

Epidemiology of young stroke in the ludhiana population-based stroke registry
Conclusion: Hypertension, diabetes mellitus, drug addiction, and tobacco intake were significantly associated with young stroke. Outcome was also better in younger people.

Relationship between factor V leiden gene variant and risk of ischemic stroke: A case & #8211;control study
Conclusion: The present study suggests that Factor V Leiden G1691A polymorphism may be significantly associated with the risk of large vessel subtype of IS. Large sample size studies using prospective cohort designs are required to corroborate the present findings.

Predictors of intracerebral hemorrhage in acute stroke patients receiving intravenous recombinant tissue plasminogen activator
Conclusion: High NIHSS score, increased stroke onset to thrombolysis time , high blood sugar at presentation ,prior diabetes and hypertension increase the chances of sICH. None of these contraindicate thrombolysing strokes but should caution the physician.

Cardiovascular and stroke disease risk among doctors: a cross-sectional study.
Abstract The leading causes of death in the world are cardiovascular disease (CVD) and stroke according to the World Health Organization, as is also the case in India. There is also a high prevalence of major conventional risk factors in India, where 18.3%, 9.0% and 14.1% of adults are diagnosed with hypertension, diabetes and smoking, respectively. The aim of the present study was to look at the risk of CVD among doctors in our country using a validated tool developed by the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK, the QRISK3 calculator. Borderzone Infarction and Small Vessel Disease in a Sample of Egyptian Stroke Patients: Differences and Similarities
Conclusion: Limb shaking, retinal claudication or syncope, with MRI showing rosary pattern of white matter hyperintensity, few microbleeds and markedly impaired perfusion favor the diagnosis of borderzone infarctions. On the other hand, presence of lacunae, FLAIR showing symmetrical WMH and microbleeds with minimal or no perfusion deficit suggests the diagnosis of small vessel disease.
