Cardiovascular Event Rates in Statin-Treated Korean Patients with Cardiovascular Disease: Estimates from a Real-World Population Using Electronic Medical Record Data
ConclusionBy analyzing EMR data representing routine practice in Korea, we found that patients with very high-risk ASCVD were at substantial risk of further cardiovascular events in 3  years. Given the observed risk of recurrent events with suboptimal lipid management by statin, additional treatment to control LDL-C might be necessary to reduce the burden of further cardiovascular events for very high-risk ASCVD patients.

Low Risk of Neurological Recurrence while Awaiting Carotid Endarterectomy: Results From a Danish Multicentre Study
CONCLUSION: In symptomatic carotid artery stenosis patients awaiting CEA, very few NRs occurred within 14 days. Treatment patterns and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) goal attainment among patients receiving high- or moderate-intensity statins
ConclusionsMajority of ASCVD patients had LDL-C  ≥ 70 mg/dL while on moderate-/high-intensity statins. Despite low LDL-C goal attainment, few patients changed their treatment regimens.

Economic evaluation of ezetimibe treatment in combination with statin therapy in the United States.
CONCLUSIONS: Compared with statin monotherapy, ezetimibe with statin therapy was cost-effective for secondary prevention of CHD and stroke and for primary prevention of these conditions in patients whose LDL-C level is ≥ 100 mg/dL and in patients with diabetes, taking into account a 90% cost reduction for ezetimibe. Safety and Effectiveness of Statins for Prevention of Recurrent Myocardial Infarction in 12 156 Typical Older Patients: A Quasi-Experimental Study
Conclusions: Estimates of statin effectiveness for the prevention of recurrent myocardial infarction in patients aged 60–79 years were similar to trial results, but more evidence is needed in the older group. There may be an excess of falls and fractures in very old patients, which deserves further investigation.

Relationship between early postoperative C-reactive protein elevation and long-term postoperative major adverse cardiovascular and cerebral events in patients undergoing off-pump coronary artery bypass graft surgery: a retrospective study
Conclusions Postoperative CRP elevation was associated with long-term postoperative MACCE in OPCAB patients. This was mitigated by postoperative statin medication. Furthermore, postoperative CRP elevation was associated with intraoperative parameters reflecting hypoperfusion and inflammation.
