032 Improving access to inpatient ambulatory cardiac monitoring for acute stroke patients during the Covid-19 pandemic
Discussion There was a significant shift in clinical practice and diagnostic access to inpatient ACM during the pandemic, resulting in a greater proportion of tests, increased identification of AF and early anticoagulation, leading to improved patient care and potentially preventing further ischaemic events. harriet jeffery@nhs.net|ABN Bursary 41

Low Risk of Neurological Recurrence while Awaiting Carotid Endarterectomy: Results From a Danish Multicentre Study
CONCLUSION: In symptomatic carotid artery stenosis patients awaiting CEA, very few NRs occurred within 14 days. 272 Clinical Audit on Transient Ischaemic Attack Investigations in Acute Medical Unit
ConclusionPatients admitted to AMU with suspected TIAs had relevant imaging and tests completed as per guidelines. 89 % had US Carotid Dopplers which were on average done 33h from admission. 58% of patients had inpatient heart monitoring. The average length of stay was 3 days but three patients stayed in AMU for up to 5 days. Protected imaging slots for AMU would expedite investigations and reduce inpatient stay.

Technical note on endovascular treatment of concomitant carotid occlusion in large vessel occlusion stroke: The "single-cross" technique.

Effect of More Expedited Carotid Intervention on Recurrent Ischaemic Event Rate: A National Audit.

Thirty years of heart transplantation at the University Medical Centre Utrecht.
CONCLUSION: Over the past 30 years, patient and donor demographics and underlying diseases have shifted substantially. Furthermore, the increase in waiting time due to lack of available donor hearts has led to a rise in the use of LVADs as bridge to transplant. Importantly, an improvement in survival rates is found over time which could be explained by better immunosuppressive therapy and improvements in follow-up care. Utility of portable monitoring in the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea
This article reviews the available medical literature on PMs in order to justify the utility of PMs in the diagnosis of OSA, especially in resource-poor, high-disease burden settings. The published practice parameters for the use of these devices have also been reviewed with respect to their relevance in the Indian setting.
