Rivaroxaban for Prevention of Thrombotic Events, Hospitalization, and Death in Outpatients With COVID-19: A Randomized Clinical Trial
CONCLUSIONS: The study was terminated prematurely after enrollment of 32% of planned accrual because of recruitment challenges and lower-than-expected event rate. Recurrent floating common carotid artery thrombus related to COVID-19: A case report
We describe the case of a 54-year-old man who developed, one week after the onset symptomatology of related to COVID-19 infection, an ischemic stroke, complicating a large intraluminal floating thrombus in the left common carotid artery. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a dramatic impact on the care of patients with cardiovascular disease throughout the world. COVID-19 has a myriad of direct effects on the myocardium, vasculature, and coagulation cascade, related to the proinflammatory and prothrombotic effects of the virus, leading to an increased risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, deep venous thrombosis, and pulmonary emboli within the first 2 to 4 weeks of contracting the disease (Fig.  1).1–4

Cardiovascular disease and mortality sequelae of COVID-19 in the UK Biobank
Conclusions Individuals hospitalised with COVID-19 have increased risk of incident cardiovascular events across a range of disease and mortality outcomes. The risk of most events is highest in the early postinfection period. Individuals not requiring hospitalisation have increased risk of VTE, but not of other cardiovascular-specific outcomes.
