Ethanol extracts from Ilex pubescens promotes cerebral ischemic tolerance via modulation of TLR4-MyD88/TRIF signaling pathway in rats
ConclusionsThe present study demonstrates that IPEE treatments can enhance cerebral ischemic tolerance by regulating the toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) signaling pathway. The mechanisms of this response come in two primary forms: inhibiting MyD88 dependent pro-inflammatory pathways and activating TRIF dependent anti-inflammatory pathways.Graphical abstract

Calculus bovis: A review on traditional usages, origin, chemistry, pharmacological activities and toxicology
ConclusionCBS contains analogous types and amounts of constituents and exerts approximate therapeutic effects compared to the NCB, thus the CBS might be used as the sustainable substitute of NCB. Furthermore, configuration and concentration of bile acids and bilirubin in C. bovis are responsible for the difference of pharmacological effects in four types C. bovis. The next study should focus on the structure-function relationship of bile acids and bilirubin in C. bovis by pharmacokinetics.Graphical abstract
