Knowledge and application of upper limb prediction models and attitude toward prognosis among physiotherapists and occupational therapists in the clinical stroke setting.

All-cause mortality for cohabiting spouses of stroke survivors: Evidence from Swedish national registries.
CONCLUSION: Spouses of stroke survivors have higher mortality rates than a matched reference population that persist for a minimum of 5 years. Longitudinal analysis of the recovery of trunk control and upper extremity following stroke: An individual growth curve approach.
Conclusion: Our work has provided, for the first time, substantial evidence that the pattern of recovery of trunk control is similar to that of the recovery of upper extremity following stroke. In addition, this study provides evidence on which to design a prospective study to evaluate whether improvement in trunk control early post-stroke results in better long-term upper extremity function. Evidence for therapeutic interventions for hemiplegic shoulder pain during the chronic stage of stroke: a review.
CONCLUSIONS: Positive outcomes were noted with the use of corticosteroid injections and electrical stimulation and conflicting results were seen regarding the use of BTx-A. Inpatient rehabilitation outcomes of patients with apraxia after stroke.
Conclusions: This study of acute patients found those with apraxia to be significantly less independent upon admission to inpatient rehabilitation compared to patients without apraxia. Although both groups improved a similar amount during rehabilitation, patients with apraxia discharged at a level of independence comparable to patients without apraxia upon admission. CONCLUSION: These results suggest that SE mediates the relationship between PB and activity and participation after stroke, reinforcing that improving activity and participation is more complicated than only targeting performance.
