Case report of nuclear medicine, bone scan imaging on a patient with heat stroke induced rhabdomyolysis
J Nucl Med Technol. 2021 Jul 30:jnmt.121.262501. doi: 10.2967/jnmt.121.262501. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTBone scan continues to be the second greatest-volume nuclear imaging procedure, offering the advantage of total body examination, low cost, and high sensitivity not only for metastatic lesions but also benign conditions. Its power rests in the physiological uptake and pathophysiologic behavior of 99m technetium (99m-Tc) diphosphonates. 1 The localization of radiotracers in damaged skeletal muscles is because calcium builds up in them and provides a site for radiotracer deposition when combined with phosphate.1 In ca...

E-095 The embotrap stent retriever for treatment of acute ischemic stroke: Impact of hospital procedural volume on real world outcomes
ConclusionsHospital MT volume significantly influenced the rate of readmissions among AIS patients treated with the EmboTrap® (alone or with another MT device) device. The lack of difference in mortality may also be reflective of limited statistical power to detect differences in study groups. Further research to understand the impact of hospital MT volume on patient outcomes, as well as identify the threshold volume that optimizes positive outcomes, could help inform future stroke care guidelines and contribute to improved treatment protocols in low-volume centers.Disclosures S. WBC count predicts heart failure in diabetes and coronary artery disease patients: a retrospective cohort study
ConclusionsA higher WBC count is a predictor of hospitalization for HF, all-cause death and AMI but not for stroke in patients with concurrent Type 2 diabetes mellitus and established CAD.

Atrial fibrillation in critically ill patients who received prolonged mechanical ventilation: a nationwide inpatient report
CONCLUSIONS: The prevalence of comorbid AF is increasing, particularly in older patients. AF may lead to poorer prognosis, and high-quality intensive care is imperative for this population.PMID:34247459 | DOI:10.3904/kjim.2020.142
