Effectiveness of cerebellar vermis intermittent theta-burst stimulation in improving trunk control and balance function for patients with subacute stroke: a randomised controlled trial protocol
This study will be a prospective single-centre double-blind randomised controlled clinical trial with a 3-week intervention and 3-week follow-up. Eligible participants will be randomly allocated to the experimental group or the control group in a 1:1 ratio. After routine conventional physical therapy, patients in the experimental group will receive cerebellar vermis iTBS, whereas patients in the control group will receive sham stimulation. The effect of additional neuromuscular electrical stimulation applied to erector spinae muscles on functional capacity, balance and mobility in post stroke patients.
CONCLUSION: It is recommended to evaluate and treat trunk muscle, which is usually neglected in treatment, and to consider the combination of conventional treatment and neuromuscular electric stimulation when designing an ideal rehabilitation program. CONCLUSIONS: There is insufficient evidence to guide continence care of adults in the rehabilitative phase after stroke. Use of Lower-Limb Robotics to Enhance Practice and Participation in Individuals With Neurological Conditions.
CONCLUSIONS: Use of these devices is limited by insufficient data, cost, and in some cases size of the machine. However, robotic technology is likely to become more prevalent as these machines are enhanced and able to produce targeted physical rehabilitation. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CLINICAL PRACTICE: Therapists should be aware of these technologies as they continue to advance but understand the limitations and challenges posed with therapeutic/mobility robots.
