Health literacy is associated with less depression symptoms, higher perceived recovery, higher perceived participation, and walking ability one year after stroke - a cross-sectional study
CONCLUSION: The association between health literacy and mental, physical, and social functioning 12-months post-discharge suggests that health literacy is an important factor to consider in post-stroke rehabilitation. A qualitative pilot study exploring clients' and health-care professionals' experiences with aquatic therapy post-stroke in Ontario, Canada
CONCLUSIONS: Health-care professionals and clients reported numerous benefits of aquatic therapy post-stroke including, but not limited to, improvements in mobility, balance, wellbeing, and socialization. Lack of formal and informal education and communication as participants' transition from rehab to community were viewed as barriers to aquatic therapy use post-stroke. Long-term prognosis of aphasia after stroke
Conclusions
The outcome of aphasia at 1 year after stroke can be predicted in the first week by the phonology score, the Barthel Index score, age, educational level and stroke subtype, with phonology being the strongest predictor.

BackgroundOur randomized controlled trial of a multifaceted evidence‐based intervention for improving the inpatient management of fever, hyperglycemia, and swallowing dysfunction in the first three‐days following stroke improved outcomes at 90 days by 15%.
