Markov Model-Based Economic Evaluation of Combination Therapy with Ezetimibe and Statin Monotherapy
The iCaPPS was designed to deliver comprehensive post stroke care for stroke survivors in communities with limited access to specialised stroke care services. Evaluating cardiovascular event reduction with ezetimibe as an adjunct to simvastatin in 18,144 patients after acute coronary syndromes: Final baseline characteristics of the IMPROVE-IT study population
Conclusions This trial is evaluating LDL-C lowering beyond previously targeted LDL-C levels. The results depend on achieving the desired separation of LDL-C with ezetimibe and on the assumption that ezetimibe’s lowering of LDL-C will have similar event reduction efficacy as the LDL-C lowering from a statin. The results could affect future therapies and guidelines.

Cholesterol Treatment Patterns and Cardiovascular Clinical Outcomes Associated with Colesevelam HCl and Ezetimibe
Discussion The evidence of lower risk for composite cardiovascular event rates for subjects treated with colesevelam HCl compared with those treated with ezetimibe suggests the potential need to consider risk of clinical outcomes, in addition to LDL-C levels, in real-world practice when choosing a pharmaceutical treatment.

Stroke in Patients With Aortic Stenosis: The Simvastatin and Ezetimibe in Aortic Stenosis Study Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— In patients with aortic stenosis not prescribed oral anticoagulation, atrial fibrillation, AVR with concomitant coronary artery bypass grafting, and CHA2DS2-VASc score were the major predictors of stroke. Prognostic importance of atrial fibrillation in asymptomatic aortic stenosis: The Simvastatin and Ezetimibe in Aortic Stenosis study
Conclusion: Rate of AF is moderate in asymptomatic AS. Longstanding but not episodic AF was, independently predictive of increased risk of heart failure and non-hemorrhagic stroke. New-onset AF was associated with cardiac decompensation.
