Outcomes of Radial Versus Femoral Access in Patients With Severe Aortic Stenosis Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Prior to Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement
CONCLUSION: Radial access for pre-TAVR PCI is feasible and safe and is associated with a lower rate of access-site hematoma. This study supports the increased use of transradial access for pre-TAVR PCI.PMID:35501112

Comparison of the long-term outcomes and risk factors of aortic stenosis treatment - in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation and surgical aortic valve replacement
CONCLUSIONS: There were no significant differences regarding prognosis after TAVI and SAVR at the 24-month follow-up in propensity score matching model. Independent predictive factors of late mortality after both procedures were EuroScore II and the respiratory failure. Independent predictive factors of late mortality specific for TAVI were NOAF, increased RDW and for SAVR: TIA, stroke, COPD and RBC transfusion.PMID:35521716 | DOI:10.33963/KP.a2022.0122

Early outcomes of the suprasternal transcatheter aortic valve replacement technique
ConclusionsOur data confirm the SS-TAVR as a feasible and safe alternative with comparable results to established approaches in patients who are unsuitable for femoral artery access and offers clinicians another access site in patients with very complex anatomy.

Temporal trends in incidence, prevalence, and death of aortic stenosis in Korea: a nationwide population ‐based study
ConclusionsThe proportion of AS at age ≥60 years was 80%. For AS, the age-standardized incidence rates were steady, prevalence rates increased, and death rates decreased by year over a decade. The 10 year SR of AS was about 50%. The most common cause of death in AS was disease of the circulatory system. Given the progressively higher incidence of AS with age continued efforts are required to increase awareness regarding AS-related symptoms and potential complications in aged people.

E-223 Atypical delayed mechanical thrombectomy for calcified cardiac emboli
ConclusionMechanical thrombectomy for intermittent stroke symptoms due to CCE was successfully achieved using an Embotrap device despite several days of relapsing-remitting symptoms with full neurologic recovery. Regardless of prior reports showing a low success rate, with the advent and availability of advanced thrombectomy devices, tailored endovascular treatment for patients with CCE to the brain should be strongly considered.Disclosures A. Immediate and late outcomes of transcatheter aortic valve implantation versus surgical aortic valve replacement in bicuspid valves: Meta ‐analysis of reconstructed time‐to‐event data
ConclusionConsidering the immediate outcomes and comparable overall survival observed in risk-adjusted populations, TAVI can be used safely in selected BAV patients. However, a time-varying risk is present (favoring SAVR over TAVI at a later timepoint). This finding was likely driven by higher rates of PPI with TAVI.

Clinical and neurocognitive outcomes after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) with cerebral protection: initial experience with a novel dual-filter device in Southeast Asia
CONCLUSION: In this early Asian experience of TAVI under cerebral protection, the filter device was successfully deployed in 95% of patients, with 100% procedural success. There were no filter-related complications and no stroke or mortality at 30 days.
