Casper vs. Closed-Cell Stent
ConclusionThe Casper stents did not show superiority in the rate of incidence, number and size of new silent ischemic brain lesions detect by DW-MRI when compared to close cell stents during CAS under distal EPD.

Ticagrelor or Prasugrel in Patients with ST-Segment-Elevation Myocardial Infarction Undergoing Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.
Conclusions: In patients with STEMI undergoing primary PCI, there was no significant difference in the primary endpoint between prasugrel and ticagrelor. Ticagrelor was associated with a significant increase in the risk for recurrent myocardial infarction. Clinical Trial Registration: URL: https://www.clinicaltrials.gov; Unique identifier NCT01944800. Ceramide Scores Predict Cardiovascular Risk in the Community.
CONCLUSIONS: Elevated ceramide score is a robust predictor of cardiovascular disease and MACE in the community. The risk conferred by the ceramide score has a dose-response behavior and is independent of conventional risk factors. PMID: 33596665 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Inhibition of Platelet Aggregation After Coronary Stenting in Patients Receiving Oral Anticoagulation
CONCLUSION: After coronary stent implantation, dual therapy with a NOAC and a P2Y12 inhibitor is recommended, subsequent to triple therapy given only during the peri-interventional period.PMID:33637173 | DOI:10.3238/arztebl.m2021.0150

Efficacy and safety of ticagrelor monotherapy in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention: a meta-analysis
Clin Pharmacol Ther. 2021 Mar 5. doi: 10.1002/cpt.2226. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTDual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) and subsequent P2Y12 inhibitor monotherapy, particularly ticagrelor, is an emerging treatment strategy in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). This meta-analysis was designed to investigate whether short-term DAPT followed by ticagrelor monotherapy is associated with a favorable outcome as compared to standard DAPT. 1-3 months of DAPT was termed "short-term" DAPT, 6-12 months DAPT was termed "standard" DAPT. The primary outcome was the composite of major adverse cardiovascular even...

Reduced-Dose Prasugrel versus Clopidogrel for Patients Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
Int Heart J. 2021 Mar 17. doi: 10.1536/ihj.20-508. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTWhether reduced-dose prasugrel has a better efficacy or safety than standard-dose clopidogrel remains unknown in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).A systematic search of PubMed, EMBASE, Google Scholar, and Cochrane Library from database inception to May 1, 2020 was performed to compare the clinical outcomes in patients with acute coronary syndrome or stable coronary artery disease undergoing PCI between those treated with reduced-dose prasugrel and clopidogrel. The pooled odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (...
