Atypical presentation of fistula dysfunction due to brachial arterial embolization mimicking stroke
In this report, failure to recognize the upper limb ischemia would have led to delayed treatment, potentially resulting in the fistula's complete thrombosis and further limb ischemia. Catheter-directed thrombolysis versus suction thrombectomy in the management of acute pulmonary embolism
ConclusionsCDT seems to have similar outcomes with ST in the management of acute PE, although larger, more homogenous data are needed. In our experience, ST should be viewed as a complementary alternative for patients with contraindication for thrombolytics or severely compromised hemodynamic profile and can yield good outcomes in an otherwise highly morbid population.

Stroke from an External Carotid: Lesion Pattern and Mechanisms
Traditionally, patients with symptomatic external carotid stenosis present with neck or face pain, retinal ischaemic symptoms or jaw claudication. and rarely as ipsilateral cerebrovascular events. In this present case, our patient suffered a stroke from a paradoxical embolism from the external carotid, without involvement of the internal carotid artery. A plaque ulceration of the external carotid’s origin was the cause of this cerebral emboli. Duplex ultrasound showed a pathological left external carotid, with a floating thrombus in the internal carotid.

Iatrogenesis imperfecta: stroke caused by accidental carotid artery catheterization.
CONCLUSION:: Even with ultrasound-guided central venous catheterization, it is essential to remain vigilant for the early detection of vascular complications. Posterior transverse plication of the internal carotid artery to correct for kinking
Conclusions: Although the indications for additional shortening procedures following CEA need to be defined, in this small series, PTP as an additional shortening procedure of the ICA following CEA seems feasible and safe with no additional periprocedural risk for narrowing at the plicature or thrombosis of the endarterectomy plane. However, restenosis at the plicature may hamper the long term benefit of carotid reconstruction.

Carotid endarterectomy for symptomatic low-grade carotid stenosis
Conclusions: This study shows that CEA is a safe, effective, and durable treatment for patients with symptomatic low-grade carotid stenosis associated with unstable plaque. Patients had excellent protection against further ischemic events and survived long enough to justify the initial surgical risk. Plaque instability seems to play a major part in the onset of ischemic events, regardless the entity of lumen narrowing.

Carotid Artery Free-Floating Thrombus Caused by Paradoxical Embolization From Greater Saphenous Vein Ascending Thrombophlebitis
We report a case of a young woman without cardiovascular risk factors who was admitted to our emergency department with listlessness and altered mental status.
