2-1-2 stroke microsurgical thrombectomy technique as a tertiary/salvage treatment option
CONCLUSIONS: 2-1-2 MST technique can be rapidly and efficaciously performed in a systemized manner offering a tertiary or salvage technique for acute stroke treatment. Specific microsurgical training is mandatory to accomplish this treatment and larger studies are necessary to confirm our hypothesis.PMID:35147401 | DOI:10.23736/S0390-5616.21.05480-1

Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis as a complication of COVID-19 infection - A case report
CONCLUSION: High index of suspicion of CVST is necessary when a patient presents with unexplained neurological manifestation following a recent COVID-19 infection to prevent from life-threatening complications. Furthermore, clinicians should not underestimate the multisystem involvement of COVID-19.PMID:35127077 | PMC:PMC8800506 | DOI:10.1016/j.amsu.2022.103326

Intra-arterial injection of mesenchymal stem cells to accelerate neointima formation after endovascular stenting in a rabbit model
CONCLUSIONS: The intra-arterial injection of MSCs after endovascular stenting accelerated early neointima formation but had no effect on thrombus formation in this study. Larger studies are required to verify these findings and determine the durability and mechanism of this effect.PMID:35090127 | DOI:10.3171/2021.11.JNS212372

Diagnostic value of whole-brain computed tomographic perfusion imaging for suspected large artery occlusion stroke patients in emergency department
ConclusionThis retrospective study indicates WB-CTP can be useful in identifying acute ischemic stroke in emergency department, especially for patients with acute LAO stroke. Moreover, WB-CTP may have a value in differentiating stroke mimics such as epilepsy and CVST.

Atypical presentation of fistula dysfunction due to brachial arterial embolization mimicking stroke
In this report, failure to recognize the upper limb ischemia would have led to delayed treatment, potentially resulting in the fistula's complete thrombosis and further limb ischemia. We highlight the importance of a diagnosis method like Doppler ultrasound, which allows for rapid evaluation at the patient's bedside.PMID:35000475 | DOI:10.1177/11297298211067686
