CONCLUSIONS: In contrast to results of other revascularization procedures as published in a recent study, the angiographic result of mechanical thrombectomy with stent retrievers is not predicted by thrombus attenuation.

Basilar Artery Thrombus vs. Fenestration: A Differential Diagnostic Challenge in Acute Ischemic Stroke
We present a case of a man presenting with vertigo and nausea who was found to have multifocal infarcts in the posterior circulation on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). An magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) demonstrated focal widening and central signal dropout in the distal vertebral artery consistent with arterial fenestration. CONCLUSIONS: Maximum soft plaque component thickness as measured by carotid CTA is a reliable indicator of a complicated plaque, with a threshold of 2.2 mm representing little to no probability of a complicated American Heart Association lesion type VI plaque.

Complex Left Atrial Appendage Morphology and Left Atrial Appendage Thrombus Formation in Patients With Atrial Fibrillation Structural Heart Disease
Conclusions— Complex LAA morphology characterized by an increased number of LAA lobes was associated with the presence of LAA thrombus independently of clinical risk and blood stasis. Understanding and Communicating the Benefits and Risks of Denosumab, Raloxifene, and Teriparatide for the Treatment of Osteoporosis
The number needed to treat is a valuable metric to determine the benefit of therapy, but it must be viewed against the respective number needed to harm. Denosumab and teriparatide (TPTD) have proven antifracture efficacy at vertebral and nonvertebral sites, whereas raloxifene has proven antifracture efficacy at the spine only. Denosumab use has been associated with a small, yet statistically significant, increased incidence of eczema and serious cellulitis. Raloxifene use has been associated with statistically significant increases in the risk of venous thromboembolism and possibly deadly stroke, although not an increase in total strokes.

Imaging adults on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)
This article will describe the imaging appearance of different ECMO circuits in adults as well as commonly encountered complications. If a CT (computed tomography) angiogram is being performed on these patients to evaluate for pulmonary embolism, the scan may be suboptimal from siphoning off of the contrast by the ECMO. In such cases, an optimal image can be obtained by lowering the flow rate of the ECMO circuit or by disabling the circuit for the duration of image acquisition. Conclusions: Bb-CMR is superior to MDCTA at identifying symptomatic carotid plaques, while MDCTA offers high specificity at the cost of low sensitivity. Results were only slightly improved over bb-CMR alone when combining both techniques.

A potential role of ECG-Gated CT for the diagnosis of pulmonary vein thrombus; an illustrative case report
The presence of tumor thrombus in patients with lung cancer confers a risk of stroke and other end organ ischemic events. This case highlights a potential role for ECG-Gated Computed Tomography (ECG-CT) in the diagnosis of this pathologic process. In this case pulmonary vein thrombus was definitively identified by an ECG-CT following discordant results between Computed Tomography (CT) and Transthoracic Echocardiogram (TTE). In addition, this case demonstrates how management decisions are affected by physician accessibility to and familiarity with specific imaging tests.

Computed tomography angiography source images closely reflect the integrity of collateral circulation
Conclusions CTA-SI and CS convey overlapping information. CTA-SI is not a significant predictor of the clinical outcome three months after intravenous thrombolysis when the other CTA-based parameters, CS and the clot location, are considered simultaneously. CTA-SI may have a role in the assessment of the extent of irreversible ischemic changes at admission if contrast injection and image acquisition protocols are designed suitably.
